23andMe Raises $115M Series E at Unicorn Valuation

Personal genetics company 23andMe has raised a $115 million Series E financing that values it $1.1 billion. Fidelity Management & Research Company led the round, which also saw participation from other investors including new backers Casdin Capital, WuXi Healthcare Ventures and XFund. A portion of the fresh funding will be used to invest in strategic infrastructure, including a new laboratory space for therapeutic research and a sequencing laboratory. This round brings the company’s total VC raised to date to roughly $300 million.
