ABRY Partners and Berkshire Partners have agreed to sell portfolio company Telx to Digital Realty Trust (NYSE: DLR) in a transaction valued at nearly $1.9 billion. Backed by ABRY and Berkshire in 2011, Telx is a provider of datacenter colocation, interconnection and cloud enablement solutions. Its ecosystem enables the exchange of information between communications service providers, enterprises and content providers, among other entities, with low latency and diverse connectivity across a global network. Digital Realty has received a commitment from a syndicate of lenders for a $1.85 billion unsecured term loan bridge facility to be used if necessary to fund a portion of the acquisition. The transaction is expected to close later this year.
