American International Group announced that Harvey Golub will become the new chairman of the New York-based insurer. Mr. Golub is a non-executive chairman of Ripplewood Holdings and was chairman and CEO of American Express from 1993 to 2001. He joined AIG's board in May 2009. On August 3, Robert Benmosche, former CEO of MetLife, was announced as the replacement for Edward Liddy as CEO. Both executives will start their new jobs next Monday. AIG has received bailouts of $180 billion and is 80 percent owned by the U.S. government.
