Air Lease shares caught some lift in their debut on the NYSE under the symbol AL, closing at $27.95, up from the aircraft leasing company's IPO price of $26.50 per share. The IPO included about 30.3 million shares of Class A common stock, putting the total offering value at about $802.5 million. Although Air Lease has several backers, including Ares Management, Leonard Green & Partners and W.L. Ross & Company, only the company sold shares in the offering. The net proceeds are expected to be used in part to fund the acquisition of commercial aircraft.
