Ireland-based AMCS Group, a provider of end-to-end software for the recycling & waste management industry, has received a €23.5 million ($32.1 million) investment led by Highland Capital Partners Europe. The company's software tracks, manages and weighs waste by reading a specialist chip inserted in bins and containers. The new capital, which brings AMCS Group's total to-date funding to about €30 million ($41 million), will enable the business to continue its international expansion plans and boost its U.K. presence by creating 20 additional jobs.
Founded in 2004, AMCS Group employs 135 staff in the U.K., Ireland, France, Sweden and North America and is used by 700 clients internationally, providing waste management services to 9 million homes. As part of the transaction, Highland Capital's Fergal Mullen and Tony Zappala will join the company's Board of Directors.
