Apollo completes $1.6B take-private buyout of Outerwall

Apollo Global Management has paid $52 per share in cash to acquire Outerwall, the operator of kiosk businesses Redbox and Coinstar, valuing the company at approximately $1.6 billion including debt. Outerwall has ceased trading on the NASDAQ under the symbol OUTR. The company has also named new CEOs for all three of its business segments, choosing Galen Smith to run Redbox, James Gaherity to guide Coinstar and David Maquera to lead ecoATM.
