Baring Asia Latest to Close Huge Asia-focused Fund

Baring Private Equity Asia has closed its oversubscribed Fund VI with just under $4 billion in commitments, reaching the vehicle's hard cap and making it one of the largest Asia-focused PE funds ever raised. Fund VI is over 60% larger than its 2011 predecessor and had reached a $3.3 billion first close within four months of launching last year. The capital will be used to continue the firm's investment strategy of supporting companies in Asia, as well as those with growth plans in the continent, through operational improvement, industry consolidation and cross-border expansion.
