Bessemer Venture Partners Leads $10M Series A for OMsignal
June 27, 2014
OMsignal, a maker of smart clothing technology, has raised a $10 million Series A funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Real Ventures, Mistral Venture Partners, Golden Venture Partners, Flextronics and Primera Capital. The company develops a line of bio-sensing clothing that connects to mobile devices, delivering useful information and actionable insights to consumers, health and medical practitioners and more. The first collection of Biometric Smartwear includes four shirts that track performance, health and fitness through sensors embedded into the fabric. These sensors are connected to a small electronic module on the shirt and send activity, physiological stress and fitness levels to the OMsignal mobile app in real-time. As part of the transaction, Rob Stavis, partner at Bessemer, and Ori Sasson, partner at Primera, are joining the company's Board of Directors.
