Borealis-led Consortium to Acquire Fortum for €6.6B

A consortium led by Borealis Infrastructure Management, the infrastructure investment arm of OMERS, has entered into an agreement to acquire Fortum Distribution for a reported €6.6 billion. The transaction is said to be valued at approximately 16.6x the company's EBITDA. Generating an operating profit of roughly €66 million in 4Q 2014, Fortum is an electricity distribution provider, currently distributing to roughly 900,000 customers.
