Brighter, a free alternative to dental insurance, has closed on $15 million of Series C funding, bringing the company’s total financing to $28 million. The round was led by Tenaya Capital and included existing investors Mayfield Fund and Benchmark. Proceeds from the funding will be used to expand Brighter’s services into new markets across the U.S.
Founded by Internet entrepreneur Jake Winebaum, Brighter has a mission of making quality dental care affordable and accessible to everyone. The company provides self-pay patients free access to pre-negotiated prices at top local dentists, resulting in savings of more than 50%.
