VC and PE investors have completed 30 investments in coffee producing companies in the Beverage industry since the beginning of 2007, according to the PitchBook Platform. While the vast majority of the deal activity has come from private equity investments, a couple companies have managed to get their venture capital fix, too, like Adina for Life and the freshly funded Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company. Together, early stage and later stage venture capital account for about 12% of the total deals. So far this year, there have been three completed deals—two buyouts and one early stage round of venture funding.
