With Canada-based InteraXon recently grabbing $6 million in Series A funding, we took to the PitchBook Platform to see how the Series A round has been treating our neighbors to the north. Since the beginning of 2007, 118 companies headquartered in Canada have raised Series A funding. The largest portion of those deals (53%) has gone to companies in the IT space. B2B, healthcare and B2C accounted for the next three largest shares of Series A deal flow. Dealfind.com and LightSpeed landed the two largest deals in the timeframe, raising $31 million (2011) and $30 million (2012), respectively.
