IT automation company Chef (formerly Opscode) has secured $32 million in Series D funding led by Scale Venture Partners, marking the company’s largest round of financing to date. Chef has now raised over $65 million in total funding, including a $19.5 million Series C investment that valued the company at $104 million in 2012. In conjunction with the funding, ScaleVP partner Rory O’Driscoll has joined Chef’s Board of Directors.
The new round of capital will be used to further accelerate the development of the company’s platform, expand market penetration and drive customer success. Chef, which automates IT infrastructure and application delivery with code, enabling enterprise businesses to move at high speed, saw its customer base grow by 350% for the nine-month period ending September 30, 2013, with Fortune 1000 companies accounting for nearly 60% of its sales.
