Mayfair Equity Partners has reached a £400 million final close for its first fund, which the firm has been investing in the technology, media & telecommunications and consumer sectors with a focus on companies in the UK. The oversubscribed vehicle surpassed its initial £350 million target. Mayfair was founded by Daniel Sasaki, the former head of LDC's London office.
The fund is the second-largest first-time buyout vehicle raised in Europe this year, according to the PitchBook Platform, trailing only Broadwell Capital's $1 billion tactical opportunities fund closed in June. Across the pond in the US, it's been a much busier year for maiden PE funds: So far, seven firms have closed their first vehicles on at least $100 million.
