Diagnostic Equipment Exits via Acquisition Declining
January 10, 2014
Since the beginning of 2008, VC investors have exited 60 healthcare diagnostic equipment companies by way of a sale to a strategic acquirer (acquisition), according to the PitchBook Platform. During that timeframe, 2011 set the high-water mark in terms of number of exits completed in the industry, accounting for 14 exits. Exit activity each year increased from 2008 to 2011, more than doubling in that span, but has since been trending downward, declining by 50% from 2011 to 2013.
