Drizly, the provider of an alcohol delivery app, has raised an additional $2.5 million in seed capital. The round was led by Continental Investors, with participation from RSE Ventures and Suffolk Equity, as well as existing investors previously announced in January as part of Drizly's earlier, $2.3 million seed funding. With Drizly, users can order their favorite beer, wine or liquor and have it delivered in 20-40 minutes. Delivery drivers then authenticate and validate IDs using the company's forensic ID verification technology. Drizly will use the seed capital to expand distribution of its service into new markets; build user experiences and interfaces; increase operational capacity and customer service; and drive customer awareness and acquisition.
