Language learning platform Duolingo has closed a $45 million financing led by Google Capital. The round values the company at $470 million and brings its total VC raised to $83 million. Duolingo's Series C round closed in February 2014, bringing in $20 million at a valuation of $196 million. The fresh round of financing will be used to invest in the platform as well as to expand Duolingo's presence in schools across the globe. The service currently has more than 100 million users and offers courses for over 40 languages.
