Early Stage is Funding of Choice for Recent Media & Information Services Deals

Since the beginning of 2010, VC investors have backed 603 U.S.-headquartered B2B media & information services companies, according to the PitchBook Platform. In that timeframe, 45% percent of the deals were early stage financings, while late stage and seed financings accounted for 28% and 22%, respectively. 2012 saw the most activity in the space in terms of deal count (340 completed deals) during the given timespan, while 2011 saw the most activity in terms of total capital invested ($3.2 billion).
