Eventbrite Receives $60M in Funding, $1B Valuation
March 14, 2014
Online ticketing platform Eventbrite has reportedly raised another $60 million in funding, this time at the magical $1 billion valuation. The company raised the same amount of capital in a Series F round in April 2013, garnering a $650 million valuation at the time. The new funds come from Tiger Global Management and T. Rowe Price, both of which invested in the Series F round and supposedly initiated the new deal with an offer that Eventbrite couldn't pass up.
Many thought that Eventbrite was on a sure track to an IPO, and while that is still very much the case, the massive new round will likely postpone any plans to go public. Since its last massive infusion, the company has been accelerating international growth, event discovery and product development, as well as expanding its team. Other Eventbrite investors include Sequoia Capital, Tenaya Capital, DAG Ventures and SoftTech VC, among others.
