Ex Libris Exiting Leeds, to be Sold to Golden Gate Capital
November 20, 2012
Leeds Equity Partners, a New York-based private equity firm solely focused on the Knowledge industry, has signed a definitive agreement to sell Ex Libris Global Holdings to Golden Gate Capital. Jerusalem-based Ex Libris provides cloud-based and on-premise content and knowledge management software solutions for academic and research institutions. The company has bounced around the PE market in the past few years, first through an LBO to Francisco Partners in 2006, then through a 2008 secondary buyout to Leeds. Its latest backer, Golden Gate, counts a significant number of software and technology investments in its portfolio.
