Former FCC chairman Julius Genachowski has joined The Carlyle Group as a managing director. Based in Washington D.C., he'll focus on investments in global technology, media and telecom. Mr. Genachowski served as the FCC chairman from June 2009 to May 2013, and also has several years of private sector experience. Prior to heading the agency, he helped build IAC/InterActiveCorp, which held stakes in Internet and media businesses like Expedia and Ticketmaster, among others. He's also held advisory roles with General Atlantic and Rock Creek Ventures, which he also co-founded.
