Frankly, an ephemeral messaging app, has raised $12.8 million in financing from JJR Private Capital, Stanford-StartX Fund and SK Planet. Its technology allows users to send messages to other users that will disappear in 10 seconds. It has a userbase of over 1.7 million, which is double what it had six months ago. The company has also announced its own development kit that will allow developers to integrate the disappearing messages into their own apps. This is the second funding for Frankly in just over 12 months; in September 2013, it raised $6 million from SK Planet and angel investors.
