Freshdesk, a cloud-based customer support platform, has raised $31 million in equity led by Tiger Global Management, with participation from Accel Partners and new investor Google Capital. Through Freshdesk's platform, one can view and respond to customer service issues across multiple channels including email, phone, live chat, social media and more. The fresh cash brings the company's total funding to over $44 million. It also brings a reported valuation of $250 million, up from the almost $21 million valuation that came with the $5 million financing it received just over two years prior. The company has mentioned plans of an IPO sometime in 2017. Its competitor Zendesk hit the public markets earlier this year, raising $100 million in its initial public offering.
