From climbs and hikes to runs and bike rides, people everywhere participate in fundraising events to raise awareness and, ultimately, find a cure for breast cancer. Venture capital investors do their part by funding the companies that provide the technologies, medicines and services that prevent or treat the all-too-common disease.
During the timeframe, healthcare devices & supplies companies focused on breast cancer received the highest percentage of deal flow (53%), while pharmaceuticals & biotechnology (32%), healthcare services (11%) and healthcare technology systems (4%) followed. In all, the 123 deals accounted for about $1.15 billion in venture capital invested.
