Glucose Meter Maker Telcare Raises Series C Funding

Telcare, which develops a cellular glucose meter for diabetics, has raised $34.7 million in new funding, according to a recent SEC filing. The round was led by Norwest Venture Partners and included participation from Mosaic Health Solutions, Sequoia Capital and Qualcomm Ventures. The company provides instant transmission of glucose testing results to a patient's care management team, enabling them to provide feedback and coaching. Telcare previously raised $25.4 million of Series B funding from Sequoia and Qualcomm in August 2012; that investment valued the company at more than $64 million.
