Google Acquiring Technologies for Its Cloud Platform

Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) announced that it has acquired Stackdriver, a cloud monitoring service that provides users insight into the health of their cloud-powered systems, infrastructure and applications. The acquisition was made with the plan of incorporating the service into Google's Cloud Platform in the coming future. Stackdriver last raised a $9.5 million Series B financing round in October 2013, valuing the company at almost $35 million at the time. Investors exiting through the acquisition include Bain Capital Ventures and Flybridge Capital Partners.
