Pacific Equity Partners has sold Griffin's Foods to Universal Robina for NZ$700 million ($606 million). A biscuit and snack food company, Griffin's makes and markets crackers, snack bars and other savory snacks, its brands including Nice & Natural. It sells to more than 20 countries. PEP bought the company from Danone in 2006 and since then has grown its EBITDA substantially; it has also established two manufacturing supercenters in New Zealand and an international export division. Last year, Griffin's reportedly received a NZ$400 million ($346 million) refinancing package.
