Hellman & Friedman to Sell Sheridan Healthcare for $2.35B

Hellman & Friedman has agreed to sell Sheridan Healthcare for around $2.35 billion in cash and stock to AMSURG (NASDAQ: AMSG). The deal is being funded by Citi and the issuance of approximately $615 million in AMSURG equity. A provider of multi-specialty outsourced physician services to hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and other healthcare facilities, Sheridan Healthcare operates in 25 states, employing more than 2,400 physicians and other healthcare professionals. The company, which last month was reportedly planning a $500 million IPO, has been backed by Hellman & Friedman since 2007.
