Social relationship platform Hootsuite has closed a $60 million round of financing, which included participation from existing investors Accel Partners, Insight Venture Partners and OMERS Ventures. Hootsuite has reached more than 1,600 enterprise customers, surpassing 10 million users in 175+ countries and making key executive hires. Global expansion includes a growing roster of customers in a variety of industries such as NHL, Sony Music Entertainment, Adidas and eBay.
The latest investment, which brings Hootsuite’s total to-date funding to $250 million, gives the company a reported valuation of $800 million. It last completed a $165 million Series B raise in August 2013. Additionally, Hootsuite has acquired Zeetl, a social telephony company, to integrate new voice technology into its platform. Through the acquisition of Zeetl, Hootsuite plans to add a new voice solution to better empower customer service teams around the world. This follows the company’s recent acquisition of social campaign management platform Brightkit.
