As the Facebook IPO hoopla rages on with the social network's latest price range boost (now at $34 to $38 a share, up from $28 to $35), we thought it would be fun to check out the valuation of other notable VC tech IPOs. Since 2004, the year of Google's landmark IPO, 50 VC-backed companies with valuations of $500 million and over have made their public debut.
We took a look back at six buzzy tech IPOs. Google's IPO share price was the highest, at $85 per share, while LinkedIn followed with $45 per share; both above Facebook's current range. But when it comes to post valuation and the initial IPO amount raised, it looks like Facebook will surpass them all, with a valuation that may top $100 billion and up to $12.1 billion to be raised at the midpoint of the current price range.
