Indiegogo Gets Funded to Help People Fund Themselves
June 07, 2012
Crowdfunding platform Indiegogo has sealed $15 million of funding for its own expansion projects. The Series A round was led by Insight Venture Partners, with new investor Khosla Ventures and current investors Metamorphic Ventures, MHS Capital and ff Venture Capital pitching in as well. Things in the way of venture capital have moved fast for Indiegogo, which pulled its latest funding together in just weeks, after previously having only $1.5 million of seed funding under its belt. Indiegogo projects are growing like a weed too; the site now features over 10,000 of them, ranging from independent films to personal medical expenses.
