Private equity firm Kelso & Company has agreed to acquire all of the common shares of EACOM Timber (TSX: ETR) for CAD0.38 per share. The offer, which represents a 46.2% premium over the stock's March 21 close, values the company's equity at approximately CAD181.8 million. Based in Montreal, EACOM manufactures, markets and distributes lumber, wood chips and wood-based products, and also manages forest resources. The company owns eight sawmills, all located in Eastern Canada. Kelso is currently investing through its Kelso Investment Associates VIII fund.
