Israel-based TabTale, a creator of interactive books, games and educational apps for children, has raised a $12 million round of funding led by Qualcomm Ventures and Magma Venture Partners, with participation from Vintage Investment Ventures and others. The funding will go primarily toward acquiring gaming companies and hiring additional talent. The new investment brings the company’s total to-date funding to $13.5 million.
TabTale, which acquired app developer Kids Games Club this past January, is considering further acquisitions that would complement its organic growth. The company’s existing app library includes over 240 apps that have been downloaded over 220 million times.
