Kinderhook Industries has sold EQ — The Environmental Quality Company to US Ecology (NASDAQ: ECOL) for $465 million. Wells Fargo and Credit Suisse arranged debt financing consisting of a new $540 million credit facility composed of around $415 million in a seven-year term loan and a $125 million five-year revolving credit facility; the rest of the deal was financed with cash. A fully integrated environmental services and waste management company, EQ operates 13 waste treatment and recycling facilities and 21 dedicated service centers, employing over 1,250. It recorded adjusted pro forma EBITDA of approximately $54 million for the year ended December 31, 2013. Kinderhook had owned EQ since late 2008.
