M-Commerce Platform Branding Brand Raises $9.5M Series B

Branding Brand, a mobile commerce platform for retailers, has raised $9.5 million in Series B funding led by existing investor Insight Venture Partners. The company, which will use the funds to scale sales, marketing and operations, powers mobile commerce sites and apps for over 200 retailers, including American Eagle Outfitters, Costco and Ralph Lauren. Branding Brand last raised funding in the form of a $7.5 million Series A round in 2012 (also led by Insight), garnering a $25.5 million valuation at the time.
According to a press release, the company has had nearly $1 billion in transactions run through its platform and is in the process of expanding into the hospitality and transportation industries. Branding Brand was founded in 2008 by three friends from Carnegie Mellon University and has grown to over 100 employees.
