Madison Dearborn to make $2.78B exit of Sage Products

Madison Dearborn Partners has agreed to sell portfolio company Sage Products to medical device maker Stryker (NYSE: SYK) for $2.775 billion in cash. Sage develops products to prevent hospital-acquired conditions, such as skin ulcerations, pressure ulcers, surgical site infections and healthcare worker injury. Madison Dearborn had backed the company since December 2012. Founded in 1946, Stryker’s core business has been medical devices, but the company has diversified into other medical technologies through acquisition.
