Sequoia Capital has made a $50 million equity investment in Medallia that will help the customer experience management company expand its SaaS platform, enhance its analytics engine, increase its cloud footprint and grow its offices. Sequoia initially invested in Medallia in 2012, since helping Medallia triple both its workforce and revenues and also expand its customer list to over 500 brands. Medallia's $35 million Series B round in 2012 came at a valuation of $103 million; less than a year later, it captured a valuation of almost $250 million with its Series C financing. The company's application helps companies capture and understand customer feedback in real time. Sequoia, Medallia's lone institutional investor, has invested about $105 million into the company to date.
