NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire SolidFire, a provider of all-flash storage systems for datacenters, for $870 million in cash. With the acquisition, NetApp will have offerings that address each of the three largest all-flash array market segments. SolidFire has raised $150 million in funding, most recently securing an $82 million round in October 2014 that valued it at $532 million. The company's investors include New Enterprise Associates, Valhalla Partners and Novak Biddle Venture Partners. The deal is expected to close in 4Q of NetApp's fiscal year 2016.
