New Unicorn: Docker Valued at $1.07B After $95M Raise
April 15, 2015
Docker has raised a $95 million Series D funding round led by Insight Venture Partners, reaching a valuation of $1.07 billion. The pre-money valuation ($978 million) is more than double the size of the company's post val after its $40 million Series C round in September. Docker has now raised nearly $164 million in VC to date from backers including AME Cloud Ventures, Trinity Ventures and Sequoia Capital. The company's open source platform allows developers and system administrators to build, ship and run distributed applications, while also decreasing deployment cycles and driving improvement in computing resource efficiency.
