Content marketing platform NewsCred has raised $25 million in Series C funding led by InterWest Partners. With this investment, the company will aggressively scale global operations with a focus on sales, technology and product development. Also, Doug Pepper of InterWest has joined NewsCred’s Board of Directors as part of the deal.
NewsCred offers an end-to-end SaaS platform for content workflow, sourcing, recommendations, publishing, distribution and analytics, giving brands access to a content marketplace that includes millions of licensed articles, images and video from over 4,500 publishers. Additionally, in 2013, NewsCred launched The NewsRoom, a freelance network that enables brands to commission journalists, photographers, digital artists and videographers. Existing investors Mayfield Fund, FirstMark Capital and IA Ventures also participated in the latest round.
