Nginx, a high performance Web company, has raised $10 million in a fully subscribed Series B round of funding led by New Enterprise Associates. The round also included participation from existing investors e.ventures, Runa Capital and MSD Capital, as well as Aaron Levie, CEO and founder of Box. The company provides products, solutions and services for its open-source software, enabling companies to match increasing demand for faster Web experiences at scale.
Nginx, which launched in 2011 with a $3 million Series A round, serves over 120 million sites on the Internet, including online services like Netflix, Dropbox, Pinterest and Zappos, among others. The company will use the fresh capital to increase development efforts for both the community and commercial versions of its platform and also to further build out its global sales, services and support organization to handle increasing customer demand.
