No Signs of Slowing for Series A Capital Invested, Median Deal Size
October 28, 2015
For the past several years, global Series A investment has continually advanced into new territory for both capital invested and median deal size, according to the PitchBook Platform. So far in 2015, 1,579 Series A rounds have been completed to raise nearly $12.9 billion for startups worldwide. That total is lurking just behind the $13 billion than was invested in all of 2014, even though deal activity will likely fall short of last year’s record. Diverging trends in capital invested and deal count have seen the Series A median round amount leap to $5.2 million for the year to date. And with seed funding metrics also climbing, rising Series A numbers should continue, moving some investments into even riskier territory.
