July 16, 2014
Secret, an anonymous comment sharing app, has raised a $25 million Series B round of financing, its second funding round of over $10 million in four months. The Series B was raised from a syndicate of investors including Index Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, SV Angel, Fuel Capital and Ceyuan Ventures, among others. It is also rumored that the new funding gives the company a valuation of $100 million. With the fresh capital, the company has now brought in over $37 million in equity financing to date, including its $10.04 million Series A round from March that was raised at an almost $43 million valuation. Along with the new round, Danny Rimer of Index has joined Secret's Board of Directors.
The company has also announced new features to its secret comment sharing app. Users can now connect to Facebook, allowing them to see the comments pushed through the app from their friends list, along with those from their phone contacts list. It also introduced 'collections' that users will be able to subscribe to in order to see more comments posted about certain topics.
