Kinderhook Industries has exited its investment in assisted living provider Nurse On Call, selling its parent company Home Health Care Holdings to Emeritus (NYSE: ESC) for $102.5 million. Emeritus now controls 91% of the equity of HHCH with the remaining equity owned by certain NOC management team members. Kinderhook acquired the company through a 2005 leveraged buyout, and disclosed more than a 5.0x return on its investment, including prior distributions. Nurse On Call provides a number of home healthcare services, including hydration therapy, oncology, post-surgical care, rehabilitation therapy, chemotherapy, catheter care and several other nursing services. Publicly-traded senior care provider Emeritus is also private equity backed, counting Saratoga Partners as an active inestor.
