Coty, a private equity-backed beauty company, is planning to go public on the NYSE under the symbol COTY and has set the terms of its IPO. Selling shareholders, which include Berkshire Partners and Rhône Capital, among others, are offering all 57.1 million shares in the offering. Berkshire and Rhône are offering about 6.8 million shares each. The two firms made a minority investment in the company in January 2011. Coty operates in the fragrances, color cosmetics, and skin and body care segments, with a particularly strong position in fragrances. The company's portfolio includes fragrance brands like Calvin Klein, Davidoff, Chloe and Marc Jacobs, among several others.
