Open-Source Video Platform Kaltura Lands $47M Investment

Nearly doubling its previous $25 million Series D round, open-source video platform Kaltura has secured $47 million of fresh financing led by new investors SAP Ventures, Nokia Growth Partners, Commonfund Capital and Brazil-based Gera Ventures. The company's platform improves productivity and interaction among employees by providing enterprises with online video tools for boosting internal knowledge sharing, training, collaboration and marketing efforts.
Kaltura, which serves customers like DirecTV, Warner Brothers, Intel, Groupon and IKEA, will use the additional capital to further accelerate product development and extend operations into Brazil, Mexico, China, Japan, Australia, Singapore and Korea. The company has now raised about $116 million in total funding to date.
