Panna, a curated video cooking magazine available on the iPhone and iPad, has raised $1.35 million in venture funding from a slew of investors. Anthem Ventures led the round, with participation from Lerer Ventures, Crosslink Ventures, Maveron, Advancit Capital, RSL Venture Partners, Launchpad LA, BoxGroup and several individual investors. The company's app doesn't just include access to a mountain of recipes. Its content resembles television programming, featuring master chefs and quality video production that can be paused, rewound and even downloaded. Panna plans to use the funding to expand its team, produce new content and heat up sales and marketing efforts.
