Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe has announced it sold GlobalCollect for €820 million ($1 billion) to Ingenico (Euronext: ING). The deal generated sale proceeds of approximately €643 million ($815 million), which will be distributed to the partners. Backed by WCAS since April 2010, GlobalCollect is a full-service payment provider, allowing online merchants to accept a broad range of electronic payment types and currencies from consumers worldwide. It leverages a network spanning 170 countries and territories and 150 currencies. In 2013, WCAS distributed €123 million ($156 million) after a debt recap of the company.
