LLR Partners has provided Avenues: The World School with a significant amount of growth capital as part of a $75 million financing in partnership with Liberty Partners and the company's founders. Avenues is in the process of developing a system of prekindergarten through twelfth grade independent schools. The newly invested capital will help support the opening of Avenues' flagship campus in Manhattan and other future sites.
55 PE Investors have invested in 71 companies in the Education & Training industry since the beginning of 2009, according to the PitchBook Platform. The industry's deal activity slowed in 2010 to 28 completed deals, down from 40 in 2009. 2011 already has 4 completed deals in the books, putting the year in a good position to have a strong showing. Florida, which is home to 8.3% of the target companies, has been the most popular location for those deals, followed by California, Connecticut, Michigan and Texas, each with 6.9%. Of the 55 PE investors recently active in the Education & Training industry, the most active include Hart Capital (5 deals), The Riverside Company (5) and Spire Capital Partners (4).
