Persimmon Technologies Sucks Up $5.8M in Series B Funding

Persimmon Technologies, a provider of vacuum robotics for the semiconductor, data storage and flat panel display industries, has closed its $5.8 million Series B round with investments from Intel Capital and several individual investors. The money was raised over the course of 2012 and early 2013. The Wakefield, MA-based start-up began in 2011 with a focus on developing next-generation vacuum robotics and hybrid-field motor technology, and will use the funding to help expand its product portfolio and further invest in new development, among other things.
